City of Kitchener extends hours at two outdoor pools during heat wave
There is now more time to take a dip at a couple of outdoor pools in Kitchener.
The city has extended hours at two outdoor pools temporarily in response to this week’s stifling heat wave.
Starting Wednesday, the Idlewood pool on Thaler Avenue will be available between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. until Friday.

The Wilson outdoor pool on Wilson Avenue will be open Wednesday to Friday between 3:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Both pools will also be open this Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The extended hours will remain in effect until the end of the weekend when the hot and humid conditions are expected to ease.
Kitchener residents will also have more options for cooling off later this week as the Kiwanis Park outdoor pool is opening early for the season on Friday.
