Climate activists rally against RBC in Waterloo

Activists are taking a stand against RBC today in a string of rallies across Canada fighting the alleged funding of pollution.

It’s the second annual ‘Fossil Fools Day’, an event hosted by a group of activists in solidarity with Indigenous and Frontline Land Defenders.

They allege that, in 2022 alone, RBC funnelled $38 billion into funding fossil fuel creators.

They claim that makes the Canadian bank the second-largest funder of fossil fuels in the world.

The local rally will be held today outside the RBC location at 585 Weber Street North from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

Organizers will mobilize at the RBC Annual General Meeting in Toronto on April 11.
