Province makes pair of funding announcements for primary care teams in Waterloo Region

Two announcements were made Friday morning involving health care in Waterloo Region.
Brian Riddell, Member of Provincial Parliament for Cambridge announced $1.9-million in funding to primary care teams in Cambridge and North Dumfries Township.
Riddell said the investment will see Langs Community Health Centre expand staffing at its two locations and serve an additional 5,462 residents.
“This is excellent news for the people of Cambridge and North Dumfries Township who are in need of a health-care provider,” said Cambridge MPP Brian Riddell. “The teams at Langs Community Health Centre have been providing excellent care to patients in our community for many years and this funding ensures more local residents can receive health care where and when they need it.”
Mike Harris, Member of Provincial Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga made a similar announcement for nearly $1.5-million for the Waterloo Region Nurse Practitioner-Led clinic and the Woolwich Community Health Centre.
“I am pleased with our government’s continued support of both the Waterloo Region Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic and the Woolwich Community Health Centre,” said Mike Harris, Member of Provincial Parliament for Kitchener-Conestoga. “This investment will ensure our community has greater access to quality primary healthcare services closer to home.”
The money for these two announcements are coming from the province’s $110-million investment to connect up to 328,000 people to primary care teams. The province said these two announcements helps our region get better connected to primary care teams.
