Man arrested after chasing people with hammer in downtown Kitchener

A man reportedly dangerously wielding a hammer in downtown Kitchener has been arrested.

Tuesday afternoon, around 5:15, police say a man in his twenties was chasing people with a hammer in the Duke Street West and Ontario Street North area.

A 27-year-old man from Kitchener was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.

Police say no one was physically hurt.
