Wilmot man facing numerous charges after carjacking

A man from Wilmot Township was arrested on Friday after a carjacking in the township.

The 32-year-old man reportedly approached a youth at a gas station in the area of Snyder Road East and Notre Dame Drive. He assaulted the youth, before stealing his car.

The youth did not sustain any serious injuries.

Police were able to find the vehicle shortly after the incident was reported around 11 p.m.

The Wilmot man was arrested and charged with several offences including robbery, vehicle theft, and driving while impaired.

He was held for a bail hearing.
