Magic mushroom shop opens in Preston

A new magic mushroom shop called FunGuyz has opened on King Street East in Cambridge.

Psilocybin, the psychoactive compound found in magic mushrooms, is classified as a Schedule III drug in Canada, making it a criminal offence to sell in Canada. Other drugs found in Schedule III include Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), Methylphenidate (Ritalin), and Mescaline, another hallucinogen.

A statement from the City of Cambridge said it is aware of the establishment, which is operating without a business licence.

Waterloo Regional Police have said they are assessing the situation.
