Waterloo man charged after boat sinks in Hamilton Harbour

A 28-year-old man from Waterloo was charged with impaired operation of a vessel after a boat caught on fire in Hamilton Harbour on Wednesday just after 8 p.m.

Hamilton Police arrived on the scene after reports that a 39-foot Bayliner was on fire and sinking. The boat had hit the pier while returning to the Marina.

Police noted the man operating the boat was impaired and arrested him.

He was charged with failing to comply as well as impaired operation.
