The Stanley Cup will be coming back to the city of Kitchener.
Nic Hague, defenceman for the Las Vegas Golden Knights, will be at the Activa Sportsplex on Aug 27.
The event will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Hague being available for photos and autographs.
Hague is a former Jr. Kitchener Ranger and spent time with the Kitchener Dutchmen and Mississauga Steelheads. He was drafted by the Las Vegas Golden Knights in the second round of the 2017 NHL draft.
“In the times I’ve spoken with him, he has expressed sincere gratitude to the coaches he had along the way, including his mentor Dean de Silva,” said Rolland Cyr, the general manager of the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association (KMHA). “He’s had several great seasons with Vegas and you know, always represent Kitchener minor hockey and the City of Kitchener in just the best way possible.”
The event will include a KMHA charity BBQ, the KMHA Top Shot Hockey Machine and Super Dekers. The City of Kitchener will be helping with other hockey related events to be named closer to the event.
