Three people sent to hospital after stabbing at UW
Three victims were sent to hospital after a stabbing at the University of Waterloo on Wednesday afternoon.
Waterloo Regional Police said one person was taken into custody in connection with the incident.
The extent of the injuries sustained was not immediately known.

In a post on social media shortly before 4:30 p.m., UW said there was no further risk to its campus community.
Scheduled classes in UW’s Hagey Hall for Wednesday night were cancelled. Students who were in Hagey Hall as of 6 p.m. were also advised to shelter in place until police could escort them out of the building.
An increased police presence continued into Wednesday evening for the ongoing investigation.
Waterloo Mayor Dorothy McCabe called the stabbing incident ‘very troubling and disturbing’ and said she was relieved the involved individual was quickly apprehended.
