Search for missing man raised to highest level, ties to Waterloo Region

Toronto police have escalated their search for a 37-year-old man who has been missing since last week, and has connections to Waterloo Region.

Police said Nathan was last seen around 7 p.m. on May 12 near Jane Street and Sheppard Avenue West.

On Tuesday, police raised their search efforts to a level three, which is the highest. A command post has also been set up at nearby Oakdale Community Centre.

Police said they are concerned that Nathan “does not have the ability to take care of himself for this amount of time.”

According to police, Nathan is new to Toronto but does have family living in the city. His family had reported his disappearance.

Police also said the search was updated to level three due to the gap between when he was last seen and when police were notified. His family thought he was under supervision elsewhere when he was not.

Police say Nathan is four feet six inches tall and 170 pounds, and has a full beard and mustache.
