Cambridge 401 expansion closes ramps at Townline Road

As work continues to expand Highway 401 through Cambridge, ramp closures continue to cause headaches for motorists through the Townline Road area, with many drivers telling CityNews Kitchener they have been caught off-guard.

Ramp closures have been in effect since mid-April but new closures continue to pop-up on a weekly basis.

Most notably, Tuesday morning, access to Highway 401 Eastbound was cut off completely at Townline Road.

On the project information page, new traffic impacts are posted weekly.

For this week, the Ministry of Transportation has the following listed:

The widening of Highway 401 through Cambridge will see the highway widened from six lanes to ten, the full replacement of the Hespeler Road Bridges, and the rehabilitation of Townline Road Underpass and Wellington County Road 32 Underpass.
