Culvert construction to close multiple lanes on Highway 401 Westbound starting Thursday
A heads up for drivers taking Highway 401 Westbound through Milton over the next few days.
The Ministry of Transportation says culvert construction on the westbound lanes of the major highway will lead to lane closures and a full closure of the on-ramps to the 401 westbound from James Snow Parkway.
The road work will extend from Trafalgar Road through to just before Highway 25 in Milton.

Crews will start blocking off lanes Thursday night at 11 p.m.
The 56-hours of work is expected to wrap up by Monday morning (May 1) at 5 a.m.
At no point will the westbound 401 be fully closed. It will however be down to one lane from Friday at 9 p.m. to Saturday at 5 p.m.
Those previously mentioned on-ramps for both northbound and southbound traffic on James Snow Parkway will be fully closed for the entirety of this work. Motorists will have to detour and get on the westbound 401 at Highway 25.
The eastbound lanes on Highway 401 will not be impacted during this time.
