Discarded, smoldering clothing was reportedly discovered at the scene, and it’s believed the fire was started by a large amount of gasoline which exploded.

Aylmer Police said one of the suspects likely sustained serious burn injuries in the blast and may have sought medical treatment.

It’s also believed the suspects left the scene in a vehicle and possibly headed towards or past Waterloo Region. The make and model of the suspect vehicle are unknown, and no suspect descriptions have been released.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious or has any information relating to the arson investigation is asked to contact Aylmer Police or Crime Stoppers.
