Owner of Solé, John Cerny, told CityNews 570 in an interview that it feels great to find themselves on the list.

“It is a great reward for our entire team,” said Cerny. “Our staff do their best to deliver an experience for every guest whether it is a special occasion, a business dinner or a romantic meal out. It's a lot of what we've really tried to accomplish, looking at the entire guest experience.”

Director of Marketing at Charcoal Steakhouse Mary Traversy called the recognition heartwarming.

“I think when you get that sort of recognition it's a bit of a boost. It's certainly an honour to be viewed that way by our guests.”

Both local restaurants will have special prix fixe menus for Valentine's Day in an effort to offer the best service possible on one of the busiest fine dining days of the year.

They discovered that  72 per cent of Ontarians plan to spend over $41 per person for a Valentine's Day dinner and over two-thirds are willing to split the bill. The data also revealed that the most common one-hour period to find couples dining was between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Matt Davis, Country Director at OpenTable Canada also made a comment on the purpose of the list and survey.

“We want to inspire Canadians to pack their charm along with their passion for romance and dining out this Valentine's Day.”
