By CityNews Kitchener Staff

Marking the cherry on top of an outstanding Friday night, 9-0 win over the visiting Soo Greyhounds, the Kitchener Rangers have picked up an accolade from the Ontario Hockey League – naming Marco Constantini as the OHL Goaltender of the Week.

As the Kitchener Rangers enter the holiday break on an incredible six-game winning streak, Constantini was honoured as the league highlighted 2-0 with a shutout, a 0.50 goals-against average and a .981 save percentage.

The 20-year-old from Hamilton was the net minder in charge for Kitchener's 9-0 victory, turning aside 22 shots for his eighth shutout of his OHL career – and his second shutout of the season. It's noted that Constantini also turned away 30 shots on Sunday afternoon in Mississauga as the Rangers thumped the Steelheads 5-1.

Constantini is said to have an overall record of 11-8-0-0 with a 3.16 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage in 20 games between Kitchener and Hamilton this season.

Constantini was also last year's runner-up for the title of OHL Goaltender of the Year.
