Two people were transported to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Wellesley Township.

It happened just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, on Line 86, west of Macton.

According to police, a minivan was heading west on Line 86 towards Listowel when it was struck by a pickup truck travelling east towards Macton that crossed the centre line. It caused both vehicles to spin. They ended up on the side of the road.

A 76-year-old Bruce County woman, the alleged driver of the minivan, was transported via air ambulance to a hospital outside of the region with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The alleged driver of the pickup, a 20-year-old Wellesley man, was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police also said they anticipate charges will be laid.

Line 86 was closed for several hours for the investigation.
