Male in hospital following Kitchener shooting (update)

Regional police continue to investigate a reported shooting in the Weber Street East and Kinzie Avenue area of Kitchener.
It was on Thursday around 6:45 a.m. that police received a report that a person had been shot in the area.
Shortly after arrival, officers located a 65-year-old man from Kitchener suffering from a gunshot wound. That man was taken to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have since indicated that the shooting is believed to be a targeted incident.
Police have warned that there will be an increased police presence in the Weber & Kinzie area throughout the day as detectives canvass.
