The Healing of the Seven Generations in Kitchener has planned a community walk and candlelight vigil for Thursday.
May 5 marks National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People.
Community members will gather at 300 Frederick Street at 10 a.m. and make their way to Speaker's Corner.
A vigil will then be held at the Victoria Park clock tower beginning at 7 p.m.
A Facebook post from The Healing of the Seven Generations read, “Candles will be provided with special thanks to Parkminster United Church for collaborating with local churches and orchestrating the donation of our candles and financial contribution for H7G programming. Hand drum carriers are encouraged to bring their drums to the vigil, as well.”
