Wilmot council to hold second meeting to hear concerns about gravel pit

Wilmot council has decided to extend public feedback from Monday's council meeting into next week.

Close to 50 people were set to speak on the issue of a gravel pit application in Shingletown with just over half getting the time to speak.

Another council meeting is scheduled for April 11 where more delegations will be heard.

Among the delegates include the applicant for the proposed Hallman Pit at the Jackson Harvest farm property on Witmer Road.

Residents have listed concerns about the location being on designated prime farmland and also about groundwater safety and air pollution.

Delegates last night raised concerns about increased traffic being brought to the area with trucks coming and going.
