Flags being raised Thursday for Transgender Day of Visibility
Blue, pink, and white flags will be flying around Waterloo Region on Thursday.
March 31 marks International Transgender Day of Visibility.
The City of Kitchener will raise the transgender pride flag outside city hall, at the corner of Duke Street and Young Street at 9:30 a.m.

A spokesperson with the city said in an e-mail statement, “The city will be raising the transgender flag at city hall to show solidarity and support for transgender and non-binary people, and to mark the International Transgender Day of Visibility, and will be posting on city social media.”
The Region of Waterloo will also be flying the transgender pride flag outside of its headquarters on Frederick Street.
