Waterloo Ward 6 city councillor Jeff Henry will not be seeking a fourth term.
Henry announced Tuesday he will not be running again this fall.
“When I decided to run for council 12 years ago, I was only 29. As important and rewarding as this work is, I never planned on doing it until I retired.” he said in a statement. “Thinking about all the progress we have made, I've decided now is the right time for me to step away and give others a chance to step up.”

Earlier this month, Ward 7 councillor Tenille Bonoguore announced she would not be running again.
Waterloo will also have a new mayor, as Dave Jaworsky is not seeking re-election.
Municipal elections are set for October 24.
