Grand Valley Institution for Women reporting death of inmate
An inmate has died in custody at the Grand Valley Institution for Women in Kitchener.
Correctional Service Canada says Lois Jean Reid passed away Thursday from apparent natural causes.
The 83-year-old had been serving an indeterminate sentence since January, 1993 — for second-degree murder.

As per CSC policy, both police and the coroner have been notified.
The service will also review the circumstances, as is the case in all cases involving the death of an inmate.
