Two men charged with fraud after allegedly staging summer crash
Regional police have charged a 55-year-old Cambridge man and a 39-year-old Kitchener man with fraud – in connection to a collision reported in June of 2020.
According to police, that crash occurred on June 18 in the Blenheim Road area, as the two men called police to report a head-on collision. They note that both men submitted insurance claims for benefits and their damaged vehicles.
Those claims were investigated by both police and the insurance companies, determining that the collision was staged.

One of the involved insurance companies reported losses of over $29,000 while the other reported losses over $20,000.
As a result of that investigation, both of those suspects have been charged with Fraud over $5,000 as well as public mischief. Both will appear in court on Dec. 14.
