Kitchener’s Sarah Pavan defeats Dutch duo in first beach volleyball game at Tokyo Olympics
Kitchener native Sarah Pavan and her partner Melissa Humana-Paredes have kicked off the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games with a strong start, winning the first game of women's beach volleyball for Canada.
The pair defeated Dutch duo Katja Stam and Raisa Schoon 2-0, and are now the number-one ranked Canadian team.
They are set to compete against Germany next.
