Bingemans drive in at On The Grand is ready to open this Friday

It's “a little gift for everybody – from the operators but also for the general public to be able to open a little earlier,” Mark Bingeman CEO of Bingemans said the reopening of the province has allowed them to reopen this Friday.

“Our overnight camping can now start, and the phone lines are certainly busy for booking, our mini-golf will be open starting Friday which folks can go online and register. He shares the Grand River experiences which began last year is also ready to open. For those wanting to canoe and paddle down the river are able to do so as well. Bingeman says the Boston Pizza patio grew exceptionally last year and that will also be ready starting this Friday.

The drive-in and entertainment are back. On their Twitter account, Bingemans shares they were ready to open the Drive-in at the Grande on June 17- after the restart date was set by the province for June 14. Bingeman adds with the restart they were able to get ready with a few movie lines up this weekend.

“Friday night we got Sponge Bob and Mission Impossible Six and Saturday we got Monster Truck and Gemini Man. For the Terminator fans on Sunday, we got that showing too. We got a whole lot of other shows coming up as well.”

Bingeman shared he had all the equipment in from last year. It was just a matter of getting everything tested and getting it back into gear and working with the different studios. “All the comedians and live acts we have been talking to are just excited to get started again.”

Although big events that are usually held at the site are still missing “We are used to averaging over 2,000 people at any given time at the events that are still unknown to when that will come back.”

He adds they are hoping that can start during phase three of the province's reopening plan. Bingeman adds “it's one thing for the province to say these events can open. What most people don't know is that there is a fine line we look for when they bring out the regulations, and what those restrictions are. “They certainly restrict things for some time until they are more comfortable with it.”

Bingeman adds staffing has become a huge concern in the hospitality industry. “We see its social media every single restaurant is looking for wait staff, cooks in the kitchen. “The industry has seen people leave, but we are also a great industry to be in, it is easy to get started in our industry so we are hopeful about this moving forward.” He shares they are on the hiring spree, “this week we will be launching some more positions that we are searching for.”
