Waterloo Region's newest Ontario Health Team has received formal approval from the Ministry of Health.

Following 18 months of stakeholder engagement, the KW4 Ontario Health Team (OHT) was approved on October 23.

KW4 represents Kitchener, Waterloo, and the Townships of Wellesley, Wilmot and Woolwich.

“OHTs are being built across the province to provide seamless, fully coordinated care for people in specific geographic communities. The mission of this collaborative includes better outcomes for individuals, improved population health overall and better value for the province's health care dollars.” stated a news release.

KW4 joins the already approved OHTs in Cambridge-North Dumfries and Guelph and area.
