COVID-19 update: Waterloo Region has four new cases

Region of Waterloo Public Health reported four new cases of the coronavirus on Thursday morning.

It raises the local total to 1,225.

1,024 cases have been resolved, meaning there are 86 active cases, which is no change from Wednesday.

No additional deaths have been linked to the virus since June 3, that total is at 115.

Forest Heights Revera remains the only long-term care or retirement home in the region with an active outbreak.

Their outbreak has been active since April 1 – 51 residents have passed away, 178 tested positive for the virus, along with 69 staff members.

There's also an outbreak at a retail workplace (the region has not named), where there have been three cases of COVID-19.

• 28,004 resolved cases
• 2,553 deaths (three new)
