Grand River Brewing is leaving Cambridge, after making a historic building its home for several years.
The building at 295 Ainslie St. S. once hosted the Galt Knife Company for almost 100 years, before becoming the home of Grand River Brewing.
In a release, the company said they faced unexpected obstacles from the start of their operations, then had to re-evaulute due to the impact of COVID-19.
“We know you will all miss dropping by the historical location in Cambridge to visit the tap room and taste some of the best craft beers Ontario has to offer, but we hope to be back in Cambridge in a new form down the road,” said Rossana Magnotta, CEO of the Magnotta Winery Corporation.
The company is not planning to disappear entirely as they will be operating out of their Magnotta Vaughan facility, alongside Magnotta Brewery.
“Together we will continue to grow our own distinctive ingredients on acres of hop fields in Vineland, Ontario and pride ourselves on providing unique flavours using quality ingredients to make natural, wholesome and honest beer, just the way it should be,” said Magnotta.
Their beers will still be available at select LCBO stores, grocery stores and agency stores.
