You can order a Canadian Shield and help support healthcare facilities

As Ontario delves deeper into Stage 1 of its plan for reopening the economy, more and more workers are headed back to the job.

Strict guidelines remain in place when it comes to personal protective equipment, and a local company is looking to assist with that transition.

The Canadian Shield is offering its reusable, medical-grade face shields for consumer purchase.

“With provinces across the country slowly reopening their economies, The Canadian Shield wants to ensure everyone has access to PPE to reduce the spread of COVID-19 while facilitating the country's economic recovery,” said a statement from a spokesperson.

The Canadian Shield is an endeavour launched by Kitchener-based 'Ink Smith', and the face shields have been certified by Health Canada.

The company is reportedly pumping out 200,000 face shields a day in order to meet the requirements of a federal contract, which states 10 million units are needed by August.

Due to the ramped up production, there are now enough Canadian Shields to go around – whether it's for business, or personal use.

While you help protect yourself and others, you can also help out a good cause. For every face shield purchased, a donation will be made to a healthcare facility in need.
