Christkindl Market opens Thursday
Kitchener is going festive on Thursday for the Christkindl Market.
The event is set to run until Sunday, with a jam packed schedule of live performances.
“We have a lot of returning favourites, but new this year we have the Beyers coming over from Berlin, Germany. We also have the Alphorn players, the Trillium Alphorns will be coming to perform on Thursday and Friday,” said Marjorie Wood, organizer of the Christkindl Market.

The four day long event will have 100 vendors selling food, drinks and unique Christmas trinkets.
“We are having potato pancake people back, we're having the waffle hut with hot chocolate that they serve, and we also have of course, apple fritters.”
The iconic model railway display will also be set up in Kitchener City Hall for everyone to enjoy.
The festival that has been around since 1997 is a labour of love for Wood.
“This is a favourite time of year, it really brings Christmas to the city and to everyone who visits … it's wonderful to have everyone out with that Christmas spirit,” said Wood.
