401 eastbound closes after serious collision

Eastbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed for several hours after a serious crash early Saturday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say a car was stalled in a live traffic lane at Highway 6 South just before 3:00 a.m. 

They allege that it was struck by a transport truck, causing the truck to rollover.

The driver of the transport truck suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the struck car was airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital with serious injuries.
