Kitchener Muay Thai fighter wins professional North American title

Local Muay Thai fighter Joey George has won his second professional North American title in Connecticut.

The Kitchener athlete competed against the two division champion Bret Hlavacek in the Lion Fight on Saturday.

George broke his arm in the second round before going on to dominate the five round fight.

Besides winning the North American title, George also won his first Muay Thai title.

The Kitchener native is described as a 'straight-ahead, no-nonsense fighter.'
