Police say a four-year-old girl was playing when she was approached by a man inside an apartment building and sexually assaulted.

At a news conference on Wednesday, police said that assault has been linked to two others through DNA analysis.

The other two assaults happened in 2017 and 2013:

Police also said at the news conference they will be canvassing a number of neighbourhoods throughout the region to share information about the investigation and the suspect.

“We believe that someone out there knows the person responsible for these sexual assaults. We hope that people will come forward to provide whatever information they may have to assist our investigators.” said Waterloo Regional Police Inspector, Mark Crowell.
