Mid-week market returning in Kitchener

The summer growing season is here and the Kitchener Market is ready to celebrate with second day market events for the next four weeks. The ‘Mid-Week Market’ will run from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 26, July 3, July 10 and July 17.
“This is something we're very excited about,” said Kim Feere, manager of the Kitchener Market. “When we asked people what they wanted to see here, a second day market was definitely high on the list. So we decided to make it into a party and invite the whole community!”

The Mid-Week Market will have a smaller group of vendors than the popular Saturday farmer’s market (approximately 20 vendors each week), but visitors will still be able to pick-up a great selection of produce, meat and dairy items along with flowers and offerings from artisan vendors too. The Food Hall will be open, allowing people to either sit and enjoy a meal, or pick-up dinner on their way home. A large licensed area will also feature local beer and cider.
Whether people are coming to eat or shop, they will be in for some fun as live music will be featured throughout the evenings and chef demos, DIY classes for all ages, and kid’s activities are planned for each week.
“We always want to make sure that everyone feels welcome and can enjoy the Kitchener Market,” added Feere. “These events are no exception. Whether you're stopping by to unwind after work, need some groceries, or want to bring the whole family down for free entertainment or a special Mid-Week Market priced DIY class, these evenings will be a lot of fun.”
The first Mid-Week Market evening is made extra special too with the Downtown Kitchener BIA’s Mural Launch event for the vibrant new piece of art on Eby Street, “Market Walk” as FREE ION LRT and GRT rides. If you take the LRT, the ‘Kitchener Market’ stop is only minutes away!
