Stratford man pleads guilty of extortion, threatening to post nude pictures on social media

A 22-year old man from Stratford has pleaded guilty to multiple charges of extorting women by threatening to post naked pictures of them in social media.
Joshua Alexander was arrested and charged in December after a lengthy investigation.
Police said he would sign up for fake Snapchat and Instagram accounts to lure women into sending him naked photos in exchange for money.
Instead, he would only theaten to share the photos to the Facebook accounts of the victim’s friends and family.
Police discovered victims from all around Ontario.
Alexander was sentenced in Stratford today to two years less-a-day on 12 counts of extortion, and one count of criminal harassment.
