Doug Ford spoke at the New City Church in Brantford on Sunday.

“Tragedies sometimes bring communities together. Everyone becomes a family, everyone’s helping everyone, and that’s what I’m seeing here in Brantford.”
Ahead of next months Ontario PC vote to elect a new leader, Ford also took this opportunity to drum up support and distinguish himself from the other candidates.
Ford doesn’t believe others have support like him.
” I don’t need a poll, I don’t need a focus group. My focus group was here today, it was last night. Every place we’re going, the places are packed. This is a movement, this is not an election. It’s not a leadership race, it’s a movement, people are fed up.”
He thinks his platform addresses the needs of everyone in Ontario and can see why people want change

” They’re being taxed to death by the government. I’m going to respect the tax payers. I’m going to put money back in the tax payers pocket, instead of the governments.”
If elected, Ford is vowing to, in his words ‘sanitize’ both the PC party and Queens Park of corruption.
He also adds in that he is the perfect choice for leader because no one else has governing experience.
The 53 year old says he is fighting for the grassroots, while the other candidates are focused on joining the political elites.
