Regional officials confirm an ION train is running on the new tracks using the planned testing strip from Caroline and Erb and over to Conestoga Mall in Waterloo.

Another run on the tracks will take place Wednesday morning as well.

Councillor Tom Galloway tells 570 NEWS that the actual LRT car running on its own will likely get put to the test next week.

For testing of the tracks both Tuesday and Wednesday, the “502” vehicle itself is not using its own power.

Spring 2018 is still the projected date for public use on the LRT.
