3 men convicted of killing Nadia Gehl in court to seek an appeal

The three men convicted of first-degree murder in the 2009 killing of Nadia Gehl are back in court this week.

They will appear at the Ontario Court of Appeals in Toronto, hoping to win the right to a new trial.

In April 2012, Gehl’s husband Ron Cyr along with Dennis Zvolensky and Nashat Qahwash were handed down life sentences for their part in her death.

The trial found that Cyr hired Zvolesnky and Qahwash to kill his wife.

Gehl was shot near her home in February 2009 as she walked to her bus stop.

Cyr and Gehl were married less than a year before she was killed.

Cyr worked for her family’s law firm prior to her death.

The three men are scheduled to appear in court all week.
