Kitchener community centres and playgrounds could soon have corporate names

A City of Kitchener committee has approved a policy that could put corporate sponsors’ names on community centres and playgrounds.

The Record reports the Finance and Corporate Services Committee has also prioritized a list of up to 50 city assets that the city will actively market to potential sponsors.

Councillor Bill Ioannidis tells the paper “any initiative that’s going to add additional revenues to the city is something I’m very supportive of.”

The policy will be brought before city council for approval on June 6th.
