Two Kitchener men charged in Mary May homicide investigation
It was certainly an emotional day for friends of Mary Anne May as the two men arrested in connection to her murder appeared in court.
The body of the 55-year-old Kitchener woman was found this past September in a park area near Tysons Drive in the Bridgeport area of Kitchener.
One of the men, 49-year-old Kevin Koehler, is charged with second degree murder and indignity to a dead body. May’s friends tell 570 News the two were roommates and that May wanted to move out.

A close friend of May’s, Birgit Lingenberg was in tears as she explained how hard it was to see Koehler in the courtroom.
“I was staring at him and he was winking at me and blowing kisses…and you know what…he’s not normal.”
Around 10 friends of May showed up at the court on Wednesday. May’s boyfriend Richard Watkins says she was an amazing person who was nice to everyone.
“She’d do anything for you…there wasn’t a bad thing about her.”
43 year old John Gallagher was also in court today, he is charged with accessory to murder after the fact and an unrelated weapons charge.
