Kitchener storage fire causes estimated $500K in damage

The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating after a fire at a storage facility in Kitchener.

It happened around 3:20 a.m. on Hayward Avenue.

Regional Police and the Kitchener Fire Department responded to the fire.

The Kitchener Fire Department told CityNews 570 that multiple storage units caught on fire, but the blaze has been extinguished.

Damage caused by the fire is estimated to be $500,000.

There is no word on what caused the fire, and anyone with additional information is asked to contact police.
